About the artwork
Flossy was painted from a beautiful reference photo by Jayden Gunn, who also works hard to protect these incredible threatened birds. I wanted to capture the quiet strength and character of the Glossy Black Cockatoo, a species so dependent on she-oaks (Allocasuarina) and old hollow trees for survival.
Jayden’s dedication to their conservation inspired me to bring this bird to life as a tribute to both the species and the people working tirelessly to protect them. Each print helps raise awareness and keep the Glossies’ story alive.
A portion of every sale is donated to Wildlife Preservation Clarence Valley.
Thank you for supporting Australian wildlife art and helping conserve these incredible birds and their habitat.
