About the artworks on cards

Here’s my little Glossy Black Cockatoo collection, all painted in acrylic on panel and all inspired by the birds I love most. Each one has its own story, and every card or print helps support real conservation work for these threatened beauties.

MR GLOSSY
This guy has always had a special place in my heart. Painted from a gorgeous reference photo by Jayden Gunn, Mr Glossy was one of those pieces that just flowed. The original sold quickly, so I’m stoked he can keep flying around the world through prints and cards. He’s a reminder of how much these birds rely on she-oaks and old hollow trees, both of which are disappearing fast.

MISS FLOSSY
Miss Flossy is such a joy. Female Glossies have those amazing yellow head markings that look like fairy floss, and she’s a perfect example. Jade Welch captured her beautifully in the reference photo I painted from. The original went to a good mate and fellow conservationist, and I love that she now continues her journey through prints, posters and cards.

FLOSSY THE GLOSSY
This one is a quiet tribute to the Glossies and the people working hard to protect them. I painted her from a reference by Jayden Gunn, whose conservation work always inspires me. There’s something calm and strong about her. Each print helps keep their story alive and reminds people why these birds need healthy she-oak forests and old hollows to survive.

FAMILY OF GLOSSYS
I loved painting this little family moment. It captures that gentle, curious side of Glossy Black Cockatoos that you don’t always get to see up close. The original artwork helped raise funds for Wildlife Preservation Clarence Valley, and every print keeps supporting that mission. A sweet snapshot of why family groups matter for this species.

FUSSY EATER
Here’s one of my favourite girls caught mid-feed, snacking on a casuarina cone with full concentration. I wanted to show her personality through that simple moment. It’s a reminder of how picky (and adorable) these birds are and how important it is to protect the habitats they depend on.

A portion of every sale is donated to Wildlife Preservation Clarence Valley.
Thanks for supporting my art and the wildlife it helps protect. 💛
