About the artwork
I love painting Glossy Black Cockatoos, and Miss Flossy is one of my favourites. She was painted from a beautiful reference photo, used with permission from photographer Jade Welch. The original artwork was sold to a mate and fellow conservationist, and Iām so happy that Miss Flossy can now continue her story through prints, cards, and posters.
Glossy Black Cockatoos are a threatened species, relying on she-oaks (Allocasuarinas) for food and old hollow trees for nesting. Both are disappearing due to fire, overdevelopment, and logging.
To help protect them, a portion of every Miss Flossy sale is donated to Wildlife Preservation Clarence Valley.
Thank you for supporting Australian wildlife art and helping conserve these incredible birds and their habitat.
