About the artwork
This painting shows a Glossy Black Cockatoo carefully feeding on she-oak (Allocasuarina) seeds, the only food this species eats. Glossies are true specialists, relying completely on these trees for their survival. When she-oak forests are cleared or lost to fire, the birds lose their only food source.
Fussy Eater is a gentle reminder of how closely life is connected and how important it is to protect the trees that sustain these beautiful birds. Every print helps share their story and encourages action to restore and protect Glossy Black Cockatoo habitat.
